High heel repair shoes in Ho Chi Minh City
A red leather high heel repaired at the Foxpro workshop: before and after.
How high heels fail
Heel tip worn down and lopsided
The plastic tip wears off on one side, the pin inside shows and the shoe clacks as you walk. We fit a new tip and level both shoes.
Heel leather peeling or scuffed
The heel knocks against steps and drain covers, so the leather peels and scuffs deeply. We re-cover the heel in leather, or rebuild the grain and blend the colour.
Slippery forefoot, unglued sole
A forefoot sole worn smooth is very slippery, and the sole edge tends to open up. We add an anti-slip layer and re-glue the loose sole at 250,000d.
Retipping high heels and fitting new heel tips
The tip is the hard plastic piece at the bottom of the heel, and it wears fastest because your whole weight lands on such a small area. The workshop fits a new tip of the right size and height and levels both shoes so the pair stands straight; if the heel wobbles, the heel base is tightened and reinforced before the new tip goes on. The price depends on the heel style, quoted after the technician has seen them.
Re-covering heels and uppers in leather
When the leather on the heel peels away in patches or is deeply scuffed, touching up the colour will not save it and the heel has to be re-covered in new leather. The workshop picks the closest leather to the original, covers both shoes so they match, and can re-cover the upper as well if you want a different colour or material. The price depends on the heel style and the leather, quoted after we see the shoes.
Anti-slip protectors in Vibram rubber
The forefoot sole of a high heel is usually leather or thin rubber, which is very slippery on stone floors and wet tiles. A Vibram anti-wear sole protector at 550,000d adds a thin rubber layer over exactly that part: more grip, and the original sole is shielded from wear. Do it while the shoes are new and the original sole stays almost untouched. Read more: Vibram anti-wear sole protectors.
Re-gluing loose soles and restitching sole welts
A forefoot sole lifting off the shoe, or a length of the sole welt coming apart, is a common fault after a couple of rainy seasons. Re-gluing a loose sole is 250,000d: the old glue is cleaned off, the sole is glued back and clamped in a mould until dry. Stitching that has given way on a strap or the sole welt is repaired with cosmetic restitching at 200,000d, sewn through the original holes.
Refreshing high heels: colour touch-up and grain rebuilding
A faded toe and grain peeling at the toe and heel make a pair look older than it is. Leather colour restoration is 400,000d - 650,000d: the surface is treated, the grain rebuilt and the colour blended evenly. Faded or mouldy suede is handled by restoring mouldy suede shoes at 500,000d - 750,000d. If the shoes only need cleaning, see how to clean high heels properly.
Heeled sandals and boots: straps, zips, heel linings
A heeled sandal with a broken strap anchor is restitched or fitted with a new strap; a heeled boot with a jammed or broken zip gets a new zip. A torn heel lining that rubs your foot is handled with heel lining fabric repair at 450,000d, read more: torn heel lining inside the shoe.
Repairing stiletto and slim heels
A stiletto has the smallest tip of all, so it wears fastest, and it also catches in drain grates and loses leather at the tip end. The workshop fits a small tip of the right size, checks whether the heel base wobbles and reinforces it first; leather peeling around the heel is re-covered so nothing is left open.
Repairing heeled sandals with slim straps
Heeled sandals give way at the straps long before the heel: stitching bursts at the strap anchor, the strap stretches, or it breaks outright. The workshop restitches the anchor, fits a new strap when needed and blends the colour with the rest of the shoe; a thin forefoot sole gets an anti-slip layer.
Repairing block and column heels
Block and column heels have a wide tip, so they wear more slowly, but when they do, the whole block wears at an angle and the shoe leans to one side. We fit a wide tip with the grain running the right way, trim it flush with the edge of the heel and level both shoes.
Repairing wedges and platform soles
A wedge is several layers glued on top of each other, so the usual faults are glue opening between the layers at the toe and a worn bevel along the front edge. The workshop strips the old glue, re-glues each layer and clamps it in a mould; a worn edge is built back up and repainted to an even colour.
Repairing heeled boots
Heeled boots have two extra things that fail: the zip along the shaft and the lining inside. A jammed zip or one with broken teeth is replaced with the same size, and a torn heel lining is handled with heel lining fabric repair at 450,000d. The heel and sole are treated like any high heel: retipping, anti-slip protectors, re-gluing loose soles.
Designer high heels
High heels from Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior and Salvatore Ferragamo are all welcome: retipping, re-covering the heel in leather, anti-slip protectors for leather soles. See the details on Louis Vuitton shoe resoling, Gucci, Dior, Ferragamo. Foxpro is an independent repair workshop, not a dealer or a warranty centre for any of these brands.

Quick answers about high heel repair
How much does high heel repair cost?
The items with set prices follow the shoe repair price list: re-gluing a loose sole 250,000d, cosmetic restitching 200,000d, heel lining fabric repair 450,000d, Vibram anti-wear sole protector 550,000d, leather colour restoration 400,000d - 650,000d. Retipping and leather heel covering depend on the heel style and the leather, so the technician quotes after seeing the shoes and nothing is done until you agree.
The tip is worn down and the shoes clack - what now?
That means the tip has worn away entirely and the pin inside is hitting the ground. The workshop fits a new tip of the right size and levels both shoes so the pair stands straight. Do it early: if the pin grinds up into the heel, the plastic around it breaks away and the whole heel base has to be rebuilt, not just the tip.
Can a broken heel be repaired?
It depends where it broke. A heel snapped across the body, or one that has pulled loose at its base, can usually be reinforced and refitted, with leather over the join. A heel that has shattered right where it meets the shoe is weak, and the technician will say honestly that it may break again with regular wear rather than take the job anyway.
The forefoot is too slippery - what can be added?
A Vibram anti-wear sole protector at 550,000d: a thin rubber layer over the forefoot, with far more grip than bare leather on stone floors or wet tiles, and it shields the original sole from wear. Best done while the shoes are still new.
Will a re-covered heel match the old colour?
An exact match is hard, because new leather is not the same as leather worn for a few years. The workshop picks the closest leather and blends the colour, and always covers both shoes rather than just one. If you want a guaranteed match, have the heels and the uppers re-covered together.
Can peeling grain at the toe and heel be restored?
Yes. Leather colour restoration is 400,000d - 650,000d: the surface is treated, the grain rebuilt and the colour blended, keeping the heel shape and the fit of the shoe. Where the peeling goes right through to the base layer, re-covering in leather lasts longer than a colour touch-up.
Do you take designer high heels?
Yes. The workshop takes high heels from Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Salvatore Ferragamo and other brands; Foxpro is an independent repair workshop, not a dealer or a warranty centre for any brand. If a pair is still under the brand warranty, take it to the store first.
Do you collect shoes anywhere in Ho Chi Minh City?
Yes. Choose door-to-door pickup when you book and give your address: we collect in every district and deliver the shoes back when the work is done. From other provinces, send them by courier to the workshop in Tan Phu.
