Bag lining replacement
We replace the whole fabric or leather lining once it has torn or split, leaving the inside clean and sturdy. The new lining follows the original stitch lines, so nothing changes from the outside.

Replacing leather parts
We replace tabs, gussets, loops, lock tabs or body panels that are torn or delaminating. We inspect the bag in person to choose leather that matches the colour, grain and thickness.

Linings, handles and leather parts: how we do it
Bag lining replacement
The lining is the first thing to fail on many designer bags after years of use. Lining fabric perishes over time, and on some bag lines the interior coating turns sticky in hot, humid weather like ours in Saigon. Once it has gone tacky it will not wipe clean; the more you wipe, the stickier it gets. To replace a lining, our technician removes the old one, takes a pattern, sews a new lining and fits it back along the original stitch lines.
Bag handle and strap replacement
Handles take the most weight and friction. If only the leather wrap is peeling, the handle can be rewrapped; if the core has broken or stretched, we make a new handle matching the length, thickness and stitching of the old one. If you want a different strap length, mention it when you get a quote.
Replacing leather parts and vachetta
You do not always need to replace a large panel. Lock tabs, gussets, loops and clip tabs can usually be replaced on their own. On Louis Vuitton bags with natural vachetta leather on the handles and trim, new leather will be lighter than old leather that has darkened with age; we tell you first so you can decide whether to replace one part or all of it to match.
After replacement, new and old leather may differ slightly in sheen. If you want the whole bag to match, it can be done together with bag colour restoration. If a handle has failed along with a stuck zip, see also bag lock repair.

We identify the damaged parts, decide whether to replace them individually or together, and send a detailed quote.
Choosing leather and lining
We choose leather in the same colour and as close in thickness as possible, and a lining fabric that suits the bag.
Removing old parts, taking a pattern
We carefully unpick the stitching and record the exact size and position of the old part.
Cutting, stitching and refitting
We cut the leather, stitch by hand and fit it along the original stitch lines to keep the shape of the bag.
Finishing and handover
We paint the edges and check the strength of the stitching and handles before handing the bag back.

How much does bag lining replacement cost?
Lining replacement costs 1,500,000d to 2,500,000d depending on the size and lining material. Handles and straps cost 550,000d to 950,000d. Leather part replacement is quoted after we see the bag.
Does a dirty, stained bag lining need replacing?
Once the coating has turned tacky it will not wipe clean; the more you wipe, the stickier it gets. A new lining is the permanent fix.
Will the new leather match the original?
We choose leather as close as possible in colour, grain and thickness. New leather and old leather that has aged over the years may differ slightly, and our technician will tell you before starting.
Does replacing a handle mean taking the bag apart?
No. The handle is detached where it joins the bag and stitched back along the original stitch lines.
Do you replace vachetta leather on Louis Vuitton bags?
Yes, we replace vachetta parts such as handles, tabs and trim. New leather is lighter than old, so you can choose to replace everything together for an even colour.
Do you collect bags from home?
Yes. You can drop it off at our shop in Tan Phu, have us pick it up anywhere in Ho Chi Minh City, or send it by courier from another province. Choose your option in the booking form.
