Bag Cleaning
matched to the right material
Which bag materials we handle
Smooth cowhide bags
The most common material. Cleaned with a dedicated cleanser, then conditioned so the leather does not crack.
- Clean the surface and stitching
- Condition to prevent cracking
- Final polish
Suede and nubuck bags
Absolutely no water. Treated dry with a dedicated brush and spot cleaner.
- Dry cleaning, never soaked
- Brush the nap back up
- Treat mould and oily shine
Textured leather bags
The grooved surface traps dust deep down, so it needs a soft brush worked along each groove.
- Deep clean inside the grain
- Keep the original grain intact
- Condition against drying out
Canvas and monogram bags
The fabric carries a very thin protective coating that rubs off if scrubbed hard.
- Low pressure cleaning
- Keep the coating intact
- Treat discoloured leather trim
Patent leather bags
Marks and colour transfer from clothing show easily. Wiped with a microfibre cloth and a neutral solution.
- Clean without leaving streaks
- Remove colour transfer
- Restore the shine
Light coloured bags
The hardest group, because every mark shows. Each area gets its own cleaning process.
- Spot treat stains
- Even out the surface colour
- Apply a stain resistant finish
High end designer bags
Every detail done by hand, keeping the patina and the labels intact.
- Check the metal hardware
- Clean and condition the leather
- Keep the bag in shape
Soft leather bags
Thin leather creases easily, so it is stuffed to hold its shape while we work and while it dries.
- Stuffed to hold its shape
- Cleaned with a light touch
- Controlled drying
