We mix a new colour from the sample you choose and dye the whole bag. Suits bags whose old colour has become too patchy, has marks that cannot be removed, or when you want a new-looking bag without buying a new one.

Restore the colour or change it?
Bag colour restoration means bringing the bag back to its original colour. Our technician matches the colour to the areas that are still intact, then touches up or re-dyes the faded parts. Choose this when you still like the colour and want the bag to look as it did when new.
Changing bag colour means dyeing the bag a different colour. Choose this when the old colour has become too patchy, has ink or stains that will not come out, or you simply want a different bag without buying a new one. A darker colour over a lighter one is much easier to get even than the other way round.
Which materials can be restored
Smooth leather, grained leathers such as caviar, togo and epsom, natural vachetta leather and patent leather can all be restored, each needing its own type of colour and finish. Printed canvas such as monogram needs a special technique to keep the pattern crisp, so we look at the bag first before saying how far we can go.
Should you dye a bag at home?
Off-the-shelf leather dye kits are fine for small marks on inexpensive bags. On a designer bag, the biggest risks are patchy colour, a poor match with the original and peeling after a few weeks because the surface was not prepared properly before dyeing. Fixing a failed colour job costs more than doing it right the first time.

Inspection and colour test
We check the material and fading, and mix a test colour to match the intact original areas.
Cleaning and surface prep
We remove oils, dust and the old finish so the new colour bonds firmly.
Dyeing in thin layers
Colour goes on in several thin coats rather than one thick one, so it stays even and the leather does not go stiff.
Finishing the surface
We restore the gloss or matte finish to match the original, and repaint the edges if needed.
Colour check and handover
We compare the colour in natural light against the drop-off photos before handing the bag back.

How much does bag colour restoration cost?
Leather bag colour restoration costs 850,000d to 1,500,000d depending on the size of the bag and the area to treat. Edge repainting costs 550,000d to 850,000d. Colour changes on request are quoted after we see the bag.
Will the restored colour match the original?
Our technician matches the colour to the intact original areas and checks it in natural light. For unusual colours or leather that has changed colour over the years, we tell you upfront how close a match we can achieve.
Will the new colour peel?
Colour bonds firmly when the leather surface is cleaned and prepared properly before dyeing. If the result does not hold up as it was at handover, we will redo it.
Can a light bag be dyed a dark colour?
Yes, and that is the easiest direction to get an even colour. Going from dark to light is much harder and not advisable for some leathers. Our technician will advise when they see the bag.
Can Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Dior bags be recoloured?
Yes. We restore the colour of leather bags from most brands, inspecting the material of each one to choose the right colour and finish.
Do you collect bags from home?
Yes. You can drop it off at our shop in Tan Phu, have us pick it up anywhere in Ho Chi Minh City, or send it by courier from another province. Choose your option in the booking form.
