Puma Shoe Resoling shoes in Ho Chi Minh City

Most Puma soles are glued rubber: the gum sole of the Suede and Palermo, the stacked sole of the RS-X, the thin flat sole of the Speedcat. Because they are glued, both replacing the outsole and re-gluing an open edge are straightforward, and the upper stays untouched.

How Puma soles fail

Puma soles are thin and glued on, so three kinds of damage come up most:

Wear at the toe and outer edge

A thin gum sole wears first at the toe and the outer edge. We add a gum layer or replace the whole sole, depending on how far the wear has gone.

Glue opening along the sole edge

Glued soles open along the edge if the shoes get wet often. Re-gluing a loose sole is 250,000d, clamped in a mould until dry.

Stacked sole coming apart

The RS-X and other stacked soles can separate between two layers. The workshop re-glues each layer, and replaces the outsole in bad cases.

Regumming Puma Suede and Palermo soles

Removing stains from a Converse crepe rubber sole, before and after

Suede Classic and Palermo use a thin gum sole that wears fast at the toe. The workshop glues a matching gum rubber layer onto the worn spot to keep the original sole, or replaces the whole gum sole once the wear runs deep. A yellowed gum sole is treated so the colour is even again.

Resoling Puma Speedcat and Cali

Re-gluing a loose sole in Tan Phu, before and after

The Speedcat has a thin flat sole and the Cali a white cupsole. The replacement sole is cut to the same thickness as the old one so the feel underfoot stays, and the sole edge is trimmed flat and re-painted around the rim.

Resoling Puma RS-X and other stacked soles

The stacked sole of an RS-X is several layers glued together and often separates at the heel. The workshop re-glues each layer and clamps it in a mould; if the bottom rubber layer has lost its tread, that layer alone is replaced and the midsole stays.

Quick answers about Puma resoling and repair

How much does Puma resoling cost?

Resoling Puma shoes is 300,000d - 850,000d depending on the model and the sole type. The thin gum sole of a Suede or Palermo is not the same job as the stacked sole of an RS-X, so the price differs; the technician looks at the pair and fixes the price.

Can a Puma Suede with a worn gum toe be saved?

Yes. If the sole is still thick, the workshop glues a matching gum rubber layer onto the worn spot. Once the wear reaches the inner layer, the whole gum sole is replaced.

The Speedcat sole is thin - will a new sole make it thicker?

The workshop cuts the replacement sole to the same thickness as the old one, so you keep the flat feel underfoot. If you would rather have something that lasts longer on the street, you can choose a slightly thicker sole and the technician explains the difference first.

How much to fix a Puma with a loose sole?

Re-gluing a loose sole is 250,000d: the gap is cleaned, glued with a proper shoe adhesive and clamped in a mould. If the stitching has gone as well, add cosmetic restitching at 200,000d.

The suede on my Puma Suede is worn - can that be done at the same time?

Yes. Restoring mouldy suede shoes is 500,000d - 750,000d and leather colour restoration is 400,000d - 650,000d. Done in the same visit as the resole, so you only send the shoes once.

Do you collect Puma shoes anywhere in Ho Chi Minh City?

Yes. Choose door-to-door pickup when you book and give your address, and we collect in every district. From other provinces, send them by courier to the workshop in Tan Phu.
